Simon + Ashley | The Wellbeing Farm

Simon + Ashley booked me a while ago after being the guest at another wedding, in fact, Simon was the best man for his brother at this particular wedding. So imagine how lovely it was to again see the same family back at this wedding along with Simon’s brother Anthony playing the role of best man this time.

The whole day was held at the very unique Wellbeing Farm in Bolton complete with Llamas, sheep and a whole host of other whacky but very cool decorations. Ashley and Simon chose this venue because primarily it struck a chord with their love of animals (which I witnessed with their bee-saving antics on their pre-wedding shoot). Not only that but they told me it reflected their personalities and outlook on life too.

As a mad keen Marvel fan, there was no shortage of references to Captain America amongst other characters! The ceremony barn was gorgeous and kitted out with a stunning array of fairy lights amongst a lovely light hanging backdrop and wooden walls. Such a great environment to be in for a wedding and indeed the wedding reception and evening dancing. Simon had surprised Ashley with a string quartet while they enjoyed their cocktail hour drinks (I can’t remember what they were but it sent their tongues blue!).

We grabbed loads of portraits, group shots and plenty of candid photos of everyone enjoying this fantastic venue. Including a ton of bouncy castle action which was so much fun to photograph and witness.

In the evening Simon and Ashley got to watch a mini video preview from their day so far, all projected onto a 4 tiered wedding cake, Enjoyed en mass by them and all the guests before they cut their mini cake and headed into their first dance which certainly set the tone for the dancefloor, plenty of shapes being thrown and towards the end concluded with a rap from Simon himself!
