Samantha + Danny | Peak Edge Hotel

I met Sam and Danny back at the start of the Summer for their pre-wedding photoshoot at Chatsworth to help them feel at ease being photographed (as well as to gte a great photo of them for their signing frame). They were a little nervous and apprehensive around what to expect and how to be, they soon found their vibe though and relaxed into the session, getting some lovely natural images out of it.

When I arrived on the day as soon as I met each of them I could tell they had benefited from the session since they didn’t seem nervous to have their photo taken, in fact, Danny even asked me to get a specific photo of them outside later on in the day which was great to hear. The day started like any but this one was even better, I was back working with my buddy Tom from Hitched Productions again, it’s always a pleasure to team up and work a wedding with him doing video and me doing photography. We both went to meet Samantha and the bridal party who were all well underway getting ready in the suite at the Peak Edge Hotel. Plenty of lovely moments and I loved the photos of Samantha chilling with her bridesmaids on the bed enjoying a glass of fizz because they just feel like such a natural reflection of how the morning went.

After capturing the bridal party we headed down to meet Danny and the chaps as they arrived, grabbing a few photos of him and his boys before focussing on some natural candid shots of them all before heading back to Samantha for her dads first look. It was lovely to see the emotion from all the bridesmaids as dad walked in proud as punch to see Samantha in her dress.

The Peak Edge Hotel looks a little different from the last time I was there with the new extension in the ceremony room, it certainly makes it a superb space and gives a nice long aisle and lots of natural light coming in. Capturing Samantha walking down the aisle with her dad and seeing Danny’s reaction was such a lovely thing to see, especially as they have been together for a long time now before tieing the knot together, both clearly very much still in love with each other.

After the ceremony we headed outside to try and do some lineup photos and big group photo while there was a break in the rain, we managed a few before the arctic wind that was battering us all made better of our plans. From here on in it was pretty much one big party with the wedding breakfast thrown in for good measure – basically the sort of thing I love to document. There was another worm on the dancefloor from one of the guys, loads of dancing, surprise confetti on the dancefloor and a pretty sweet cake (pun definitely intended). I grabbed Danny and Sam for 5 minutes outside to get some after dark photos that they had asked for with some creative flash to go alongside the couples portraits we had done earlier in some natural light. I stayed on to capture as much of the dancefloor as I could and I’m glad I did because these guys loved having fun on there, including Samantha upgrading her wedding dress to a full-on robe – have a look at the photos towards the end and you’ll see what I mean.
