Rebecca + Matt | Losehill House Hotel

As ever it was lovely to be back at Losehill House for another delightful Summer wedding. It seemed like such a long time ago now since I had spoken to Rebecca + Matt about their wedding when we first had our online video chat (the one where my daughter Robyn sealed the deal when she decided to join in with my call!). I don’t always get to meet my couples in person before the day but after following Rebecca and Matt on Instagram I already had a great idea of what was going on in their lives and what they were like; mainly consisting of cycling and Ironman training – they are essentially an impressively energetic duo!.

Anyway onto the day, I arrived to cover bridal prep first which was just chilled and extremely well prepared too, along with special instruction from Rebecca to pop and see Matt with a letter she had written for him. After delivering the letter I think it was a bit of a shock to Matt who was feeling somewhat unexpectedly overwhelmed with emotion on his and Rebecca’s big day, a few tears rolled down Matt’s cheek while wearing his favourite Icarus top. There were cheers with whiskies and a sandwich (an on topic joke around Matt eating on a fairly regular basis) and an abundance of sunshine. Thankfully the British weather gave us some glorious weather as you’ll be able to tell in the images when the top up suncream made an appearance.

It was a beautiful ceremony outside under the pagoda followed by confetti and a few group photos, without forgetting a special visit from Rebecca + Matt’s dog; I do love it when a couple arranges to have their dog at their wedding and this isn’t the first one for me to capture at Losehill House. When we spoke originally Rebecca + Matt were quite clear that they wanted to go somewhere in The Peaks for some photos of them and the gorgeous backdrop of the Hope Valley, so we jumped in their car and headed for Surprise View above Hathersage. A popular spot with many of my couples and one which Rebecca + Matt enjoy every time they cycle through the area when they’re being characteristically energetic.

After some drama trying to park in the car park (which was seasonally full!) and their relaxed couples portrait session we headed back to Losehill for their wedding breakfast and speeches before heading into the evening shenanigans. After their first dance, Rebecca said she really wanted to throw the bouquet so we nipped back outside with the DJ dropping the announcement for all the ladies to make their way outside. A fun spectacle, especially when the unassuming lady caught the bouquets and proceeded to chase the chap who was already her fiancé. Certainly funny to watch and to document.
