Pete + Terri | Eyam Hall
I met Terri and Pete over a video call around 7 months before the big day and got to listen to everything they love doing together, hobbies and also their plans for their Eyam Hall wedding day. Both of them loved the Peak District and especially going for walks when Pete isn’t playing cricket or Terri isn’t scrapbooking and making crafts. This is why they chose Eyam Hall since it’s just a gorgeous location but also set right in The Peak District in the historic plague village of Eyam which did have some irony to it since their wedding had been delayed due to a global pandemic! Their plan was to have a very small wedding full of friends and family but limited to 30 people to keep it intimate but it also safely suited the current restrictions for weddings at the time. Which meant if we didn’t get through the phases we needed to for lockdown restrictions then the wedding would still be able to proceed as planned.
The wedding day itself was blessed with gorgeous weather all day which meant we could have the ceremony outside in the garden with Terri and Pete being married under the lovely gazebo. I love an outdoor wedding with all of the natural light available to use plus being outdoors is wonderful, especially in the Peak District. The day started with me covering the bridal prep in the private suite in Eyam Hall, I used the opportunity given by the weather to photograph some of the details outdoors in the garden such as Terri’s gorgeous dress and shoes. While Pete was sharing a beer or two in the garden bar with his best man the flower girls joined Terri, her mum and bridesmaid, the wedding was fast approaching, it was as beautiful a ceremony as you could have imagined with Terri and Pete married under the gazebo while all their guests witnessed them exchanging vows. After the ceremony, there was confetti in front of the house followed by a few group photos and some garden games including the croquet that Pete and his best man had set up while sharing a beer in the garden.
We didn’t venture further than the fields and quaint garden area of Eyam Hall to get some portraits of Pete and Terri in the lovely warm summer light. I then spent the rest of the day capturing the wedding in the candid style reflected in my work while the happy couple and their guests enjoyed drinks before heading to the Coolstone restaurant for their wedding breakfast. Terri and Pete had an amazing cheese cake for their cake cutting which they did before the meal so it could be prepared by the kitchen for the ensuing cheese and biscuits after the meal. During the cheese course a good friend had prepared an entertaining quiz and with some great questions too, what would you expect from someone who has appeared on University Challenge! It was a fantastic intimate wedding day full of lovely people.
Anyway enough from me, have a watch of their photo highlights video below or you can always scroll through the images underneath. Enjoy.
