Nicky + Ryan | Peak Edge Hotel

Well I know I don’t meet many people with the same surname as me, but when I met the set of Hodgson’s for this wedding I certainly felt very much at home. I remember a while back when Nicky + Ryan had a video chat with me that it was so easy for us all to be in each other’s company, albeit virtually! But on the day it was no different and to be able to share this special day with them both and their families was lovely. Both Nicky + Ryan had children of their own before meeting and I can remember from our chat the telling me how important it was for the kids to be involved in the day and it was such a lovely sentiment and great to witness how fab a family unit they all were together.

I had been booked for my usual full-day storytelling coverage of their day and there were so many lovely moments to cover and treats too, from crepes in the morning to hilarious magic in the evening. Nicky had the girls with her in the morning including her sister stepping in to do makeup for them all too, well done for stepping up to the plate on that one. Ryan had the boys with him including his childhood best friend who would later tell us all some very entertaining stories of them growing up during the best mans speech; it certainly kept me entertained.

It was also great to be able to have the ceremony outside, I absolutely love an outdoor ceremony because of the vibe it gives and also having use of some natural daylight to get my couples looking at their best. Peak Edge Hotel also has a really well-thought-out area for an outdoor ceremony too and plenty of space for me to get around to cover the wedding from so many vantage points means I could give Ryan + Nicky all the angles of their wedding ceremony. There were some lovely readings from each of the kids for the ceremony as well as some beautiful live music. After the ceremony and the confetti we used the grounds for a few group photos and then I spent 10 minutes with Nicky + Ryan getting them some beautiful wedding portraits in the grounds of Peak Edge Hotel.

Before the meal we went straight into the speeches and like I’ve said above there were some great moments, especially from the best man’s speech, definitely bringing the laughter to the room! But as always it was also great to hear what everyone else had to say, I really like this part of the day when I get to find out even more about my couples and today’s was no exception. Anyway enough from me, have a watch of their photo highlights video below or you can always scroll through the images underneath.
