Meg + Josh | Hathersage

Wow, what a day it was for Meg + Josh. From biblical proportions of rain to a proper party atmosphere all in one day. Either way, it was such an amazeballs wedding and I can’t wait to share it with you.

The day started off for me as usual with some establishing photos of the day at bridal prep with Meg and her girls. The usual things like hair, makeup, oh and putting a guest’s photo on a stick and putting them in a potato because, at the last moment, they sadly couldn’t be present at the wedding. From there it was full of calmness and giggles until the rain decided to properly define itself as here to stay, that being said it eased off when it needed to for the essentials of getting into the car, going into church and a few portraits later on. Nevertheless, it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits at all.

A gorgeous entrance from the full bridal party to the church and a look of true excitement from Josh at the arrival of his bride Meg, the show was fully underway now. After the wedding, we went to a quiet lane not far from the reception marquee where Meg and Josh did the most amazing thing. They had both written vows to each other and they read these out loud to each other, to be there photographing to document the moment and also bear witness was something very humbling.

We grabbed some fantastic portraits between showers and then headed back to the most warm welcome at their wedding reception on the Hathersage Football Club field. Somewhere that has strong links for Josh.

A few drinks in and before long it was time for the speeches, always loads of fun and certainly a part of the day I love to photograph – take a look for yourself below.
