Lisa + Nick | Aston Hall

I arrived at Aston Hall for Nick + Lisa’s wedding day on a slightly overcast and precipitous day. But thankfully when I arrived to see Lisa and her bridal party their moods were full of all the sunshine the day needed. There was so much fun and laughter happening throughout the morning and it made it so much fun to be there with them. I followed Nick’s mum from the bridal prep as I knew she wanted to give Nick something special and it was important to document the moment.

The moment didn’t disappoint with Nick showing all the emotion at some very special cufflinks that his Mum had given him. After seeing this I headed back to Lisa for the final preparations and Lisa’s bridesmaids seeing her in her dress for the first time. Seeing Lisa walk down the aisle to Nick’s reaction was lovely as was the reactions from everyone else in the room. Then came the hugs and congratulations for Nick and Lisa from all of their guests.

We grabbed some time for group shots in the reception area since it was looking so lovely and Christmassy with the tree up. Plus we had lost the light outside so we needed to make something lovely inside for the groups and also for their couple’s portraits. Couples’ portraits were lovely up with the big Christmas Tree as well, offering some lovely foreground bokeh in their photos.

After a whistle-stop tour of group photos and portraits, it was time to go into the speeches – one of my favourite parts of the day. They were short but sweet and I captured some great reactions from around the room. After the meal, I popped outside and set up my lights for a small off-camera flash portrait session so all I had to do was borrow Nick + Lisa for 2 minutes to get them some more fantastic portraits before we headed into the dancefloor.
