Girish + Kim | Stock Farm Barn
Girish and Kim got in touch with me to talk about photographing their Indian wedding ceremony at Stock Farm Barn. Girish and Kim really wanted coverage of the ceremony and the party after and it was very clear that they wanted to keep things laid back and candid throughout without anything staged.
The drive over to Stock Farm Barn through the lovely Cheshire countryside was delightful and even more so upon pulling up at this gorgeous wedding venue. Stock Farm Barn is a beautifully transformed working stables and barn just perfect for any type of wedding or celebration. The weather was a little showery on the way over and I was checking my weather app to see what the rest of the day had to hold, the ceremony was due to be outside.
I arrived in time to capture some photos of Kim getting ready, although Girish and Kim had said they weren’t too worried about these photos I decided to arrive early and at least make it an option for them to have. It was great as it gave me more time with the wedding party before the email event and allowed me to gel with everyone. This was also my first Indian wedding ceremony so I was super excited to see how events unfolded.
Sadly the weather had other plans and although the mandap was setup outside it had to be moved inside the barn for the ceremony. It was amazing to see Girish and other guests working together to move the mandap and a heap of chairs in time to make the ceremony a nice dry success!! I absolutely loved the ceremony with all the fun and games as well as the amount of colour from everyone’s dresses, it was a pleasure to be part of.
After the ceremony Kim went to change into another outfit and the rest of the guests chatted, mingled and enjoyed canapés to a quartet band. Shortly followed by Girish and Kim’s entrance to all their guests who lifted the roof for them.
The evening celebrations were opened up by the talented dancers at Bhangracise with some pretty special Bhangra dancing. As soon as Kim and Girish joined in that was it, everyone was up dancing and producing pretty much the best dance floor I have seen in years. It was amazing to watch and to photograph and I am really happy with the dance floor weddings from this wedding.
Anyway enough from me, have a watch of their photo highlights video below or you can always scroll through the images underneath. Enjoy.
