A Beautiful Day at Emma and Chris’s Ashover Wedding. I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Emma and Chris’s wedding, which took place at the stunning Ashover Church, nestled in the Derbyshire countryside. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and personal touches that made it truly unforgettable.

A Relaxed Morning at Stretton Hall Farm

The day began at Stretton Hall Farm, where Emma and her bridesmaids were getting ready in one of the cottages. The atmosphere was relaxed and joyful, with plenty of laughter echoing through the room. The bridesmaids were in high spirits, sipping on Bucks Fizz and enjoying croissants as they helped Emma prepare for her big day. It was clear that this group of women had a deep bond, and it was a privilege to witness the fun and excitement.

One of the most touching moments came when Emma shared her first look with her dad. The moment’s emotion took over, and her dad, ever prepared with a handkerchief, was right by her side. You could feel their deep connection as Emma’s eyes filled with tears.

The Ceremony at Ashover Church

We made our way to Ashover Church in a beautiful vintage Bentley, with Emma looking radiant and Dad very proud. The ceremony was held in this picturesque church, full of charm and history. The service itself was both heartfelt and lighthearted, especially when the vicar, who resembled Rowan Atkinson, made a self-aware joke that got a few chuckles from the congregation. It was these personal touches that made the ceremony so special.

After the ceremony, Emma and Chris were showered with hugs, kisses, and well-wishes from their friends and family. The love surrounding them was palpable, culminating in a joyful confetti line, with petals flying in the air as the couple exited.

Romantic Photos at Ashover Rocks

We headed to the stunning Ashover Rocks for the couple’s shots which Emma and Chris had asked for, it was a place that they loved to visit on walks. The dramatic landscape of the rocks provided the perfect backdrop for some intimate, romantic shots of Emma and Chris. The wind in their hair, the expansive views behind them – it was a photographer’s dream and a wonderful moment for the newlyweds to take a breather together.

A Relaxed Reception at Stretton Hall Farm Tea Rooms

The reception was held back at the rustic and charming Stretton Hall Farm Tea Rooms, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The vibe was laid-back, with guests mingling and catching up as we took a few group photos. The casual yet elegant setting really reflected Emma and Chris’s personalities, making everyone feel right at home.

One of the standout moments was the wedding breakfast – a mouthwatering Sunday Roast feast, lovingly prepared by The Miners Arms in Ashover. As a big fan of a good roast, I can safely say this meal was one for the books! I’ll definitely be heading back to The Miners Arms for my next Sunday lunch.

Evening Stroll and Celebrations

As the evening drew in, Emma and Chris decided to slip away for a short evening stroll, and I was lucky enough to capture a few more intimate moments between them. The soft light of the setting sun gave a magical glow to these final couple’s shots, rounding out a perfect day.

Once back inside, it was time for the traditional cake cutting, followed by their first dance as husband and wife. There was something so genuine and heartfelt about the way they moved together, lost in their own little world amidst the music and cheering guests. Emma and Chris’s wedding truly celebrated love, family, and friendship. From the laughter-filled bridal prep at Stretton Hall Farm to the intimate moments at Ashover Rocks, every part of their day reflected the joy they bring to those around them. I feel incredibly honoured to have been a part of it and can’t wait to relive these moments through the images I captured.
