Doorstep Portraits in Bamford was an idea born out of work that other great photographers have been doing around the country so I am certainly not the first person to have come up with this idea. It’s certainly testing times for everyone at the moment during the Coronavirus lockdown and I think that it is something which we will all talk about for many years to come and because of that I think it is something that should be documented. Sadly all of my current photograph work has been halted dead in it’s tracks since I am predominantly a wedding photographer, also really sad for lots of the couples who had their dates scheduled during the lockdown period. Because I’m not photographing any weddings or any of the other disciplines I photograph either I decided that I would jump on the doorstep portraits idea for my local community in Bamford. I will be making sure that I do this as part of my daily exercise taking a walk within the vicinity of Ashopton Road in Bamford and posting where I am going to be visiting and when within the Tom Hodgson Photography Doortaits Facebook group.
This is something I am doing completely free to give back to the community but I am also hoping that it will also aid Ashgate Hopsicecare as well. Some of you may well know I am going to be participating in the RideLondon100 (Covid-19 permitting it going ahead) and as my fundraising plans have been somewhat as flattened as my commercial photography I was hoping that people might be kind enough to donate to my Justgiving page. Everyone in Bamford has been amazing and have smashed my RideLondon target, I am also doing a 24 hour ride challenge raising money for Ashgate Hopsice to cover the distance from North Derbyshire to Dartmoor on an indoor bike and I am now hoping people can make a little donation to my fundraising page.
