Dan + Jade | The Maynard

Dan and Jade’s special day seemed to be a long time coming, I’ve personally known Dan for many years and in fact have photographed quite a few weddings that Dan and Jade have been to together. The day started at Jade’s parents with the bridal prep which was super chilled and great to be working back with Tom from Hitched Productions who always makes the day loads of fun as well as capturing amazing wedding videography. Buddy the dog was there to join Jade in the morning before heading back home ahead of the wedding, he’s a pretty big part of Dan and Jade’s lives as their very own fur baby.

Mum and Dad’s first look at Jade on her wedding day was a lovely moment with some great reactions all around, some smiles and some tears but either way, everyone clearly agreed how beautiful the bride to be was looking. I headed over to the church to meet the chaps and be there ready for Jade and dad arriving in the car, All Saints Church in Ecclesall is always a favourite church. Full of nice big windows allowing plenty of natural light to flood into the room. Today was even better though because there was a 4 piece Gospel choir at the wedding – I absolutely love listening to some class Gospel singing.

We headed over to Surprise View above Hathersage on our way back to The Maynard for the wedding reception. Jade and Dan braving getting up high on some rocky edges in their Sunday best was definitely worth it to end up with some stunning couples portraits surrounded by the beautiful Peak District landscape of the Hope Valley. We spent around 25 minutes taking portraits and walking down to the viewpoint from the car park before heading over to the wedding reception at The Maynard, greeted on arrival with some champagne and a Master of Ceremonies.

Dan and Jade were super excited to head straight out into the garden to play 9 holes of crazy golf which they had hired for the day, a game of Crazy Golf was what these guys did on their first date! It was a great element to have at the wedding and even better provided by the chaps at Crazy 9, it really is a top quality setup. Tom and I might have sneaked a round in later on while everyone was sat down eating at the wedding breakfast, not boasting but I won (and got the best score but it didn’t count for the leaderboard, doh!).

After the meal it was time for the speeches which were full of the usual emotion and laughter you expect, I love this time of the day as it’s always a great time to capture some lovely moments between people. As usual the efficient staff at The Maynard turned the room around ready for the evening cake cutting and the dancing, of which there was plenty. Now this is my absolute favourite part of the day capturing photos of people giving it their all on the dancefloor and today didn;t disappoint.
