Ah beautiful day for a wedding with glorious sunshine and lovely skies all day for Ashley and Helen’s wedding. It was also another fabulous farming wedding with big ribbon clad tractors for the wedding cars and flat caps a plenty for the boys to wear. I’ve known Ashley and Helen for quite some time and it’s always a pleasure to photograph a wedding of someone I know well, especially as I get to see their day unfold as both a photographer and a friend.
Ashley and Helen got married at Christ Church in Fulwood which is a lovely bright church with huge arched windows allowing light to flood in over the ceremony. After the ceremony the happy couple were surprised with a guard of honour made up from LaCrosse sticks and pitchforks to reflect both their farming heritage and Ashley’s elite level England LaCrosse team background. This lead nicely into a confetti shot, after which they both hopped onto the Massey Ferguson tractor and headed back to Helen’s childhood farm for some photos in a corn field overlooking the fields surrounding the farm which Helen has spent her entire childhood life on.
After the corn field photos it was time to go and get the formal shots back at the reception venue at the family farm at Wyming Brook, certainly an interesting one where I was hoisted into the air in a tele-handler to get the big group shots, it made for the perfect vantage point to capture everyone’s faces! After the formal shots it was time to head into the marquee for the speeches which as usual didn’t disappoint and showed how much Ashley and Helen are surrounded by love and friendship by their collective wedding guests. There were some lovely opportunities too for a quick photo against the dramatic sunset which they were blessed with on the day and the evening quickly culminated in their first dance among beautiful fairy lights and a huge gathering of friends and family.
I hope you enjoy looking through a small selection of photos from their day…
