Amy + Shaun | The Farmhouse at Mackworth

Well this was my first time at The Farmhouse at Mackworth as a wedding photographer and even as a guest for that matter. What a gorgeous spot it is as well, I really enjoyed photographing Amy and Shaun’s big day here. I began the morning with a few establishing photos of the venue to set the scene for Amy and Shaun’s wedding story, I also met a slightly nervous Shaun waiting for his groomsmen to arrive before I had a short scout around inside and headed up to see Amy and the bridesmaids.

Amy was just in the midst of final bits of hair and makeup done by her bridesmaids with lots of laughter to be heard, always a good thing to hear on any wedding day. It was great to have both Shaun and Amy at the venue getting ready because it meant I could simply nip between them both to capture both bridal and groom prep. It wasn’t long before Amy put on her dress and revealed her beautiful look to a bunch of emotional bridesmaids, mum and aunty. Then it was Dad’s turn and he didn’t half look proud as punch before they both also got a little emotional too.

Amy walked into the ceremony with her bridesmaids to some wonderful acoustic music from Brad Matthew. Another emotional moment or two during the ceremony, especially from Amy’s Maid of Honour, this would become a theme for the day as one of her closest friends. After the ceremony it was time for congratulatory hugs, kisses and confetti! We did a few group photos that Amy and Shaun had asked for before capturing some relaxed couples portraits in the lovely lawn area at The Farmhouse before heading inside to the reception.

All of the table details had been created by the talented Amy and Shaun through their business venture, Oak Tree Creations, and I have to say they’ve done a fantastic job, everything looked wonderful! We quickly ran around each table so Amy and Shaun could have a quick photo with each table of guests, one regular photo and one silly one. I don’t often get asked for this but it’s always good fun when it happens, I last did it at Leanne and Callum’s wedding last year.
