Story first. Legacy always.

Story First. Legacy Always

I photograph weddings with calm, fun, people-first storytelling that holds the emotional weight of the day, so couples can stay present, relive it exactly as it felt, and carry those images forward into their family legacy. Peak District based wedding photographer, available across the UK.

If you want to feel relaxed on your wedding day and free to enjoy all the fun and feels of the day then we’re off to a great start! I believe in an authentic style of coverage that shows how it really felt to be at your wedding. Calm, people-first coverage with gentle direction but without any awkward posing, so you can stay present while I capture how it truly felt, leaving you more time with your guests.

Timeless wedding photos are so important and the true value of a photo happens when the moment has gone. I’ve been lucky to immortalise so many memories for my wedding couples over the last 15 years. I genuinely get excited to document each wedding I am part of!

“You are absolutely the best money we spent on our wedding. Not only are the photos stunning, but your demeanour and professionalism throughout was just such a joy to be around – really, thank you so much”

Best Wedding Photography of 2024

Check out my annual round-up blog post of all the weddings I was lucky enough to document throughout 2024! All condensed into a great 3 minute video.

Hey, I’m Tom.

I’m your friendly, laid-back stress free Wedding Photographer from The Hope Valley right in the heart of The Peak District. I love being around people and I love being a full-time photographer. I’m all about making people feel at ease—most couples say I feel like a friend with a camera.

Personal chef and chief photographer to Lorna, and dad to Robyn and Frankie. A child of the ‘80s, I love vinyl records, country music, classic bands like AC/DC and Old Dominion, cycling in the Peak District, and geeking out over gadgets.

When I’m not behind the camera, I’m playing snooker, swimming, cycling, golfing and watching Stranger Things, Yellowstone or enjoying a Guinness. I once cycled for 24 hours straight, raising over £11,500 for Ashgate Hospice, and I used to play ice hockey and rugby!

Here’s some of the accolades I have received as an award-winning wedding photographer

“It was like reliving the day all over again. From start to finish our wedding experience with Tom was second to none”

No more awkward posing

Having your photograph taken shouldn’t be awkward and you shouldn’t have someone telling you to say “cheese”. I guarantee you that I won’t do anything like that with you. It’ll simply be fun, memorable and relaxed. I’ll essentially just try to be like another guest at your wedding but one who’s awesome at taking amazing photos of you and your guests.

Timeless + elegant wedding photography

I believe in photography that is timeless. Where the editing of the images reflects which are a true reflection of your wedding day. My wedding photography is full of rich tones and colours that will stand the test of time and won’t fade with changes in fashion. Have a look at my portfolio and see for yourself.

“Tom was amazing he just slotted in as if he was a guest of ours. He captured all of the emotions of our special day”

Some of my latest wedding stories

  • Sophie + Darren | Tideswell Church + The Fishpond, Matlock

Sophie and Darren's wedding was never going to follow the rulebook, and that was precisely the point. From a semi-naked groom cheerfully holding court on his doorstep with a kitten, to skipping down the aisle of a gothic Derbyshire church, to taking the entire wedding party to the Matlock Bath arcades after the speeches, this was a day built entirely around two people being unapologetically themselves. Emotional, joyful, and completely their own, it's exactly the kind of wedding that reminds you why you love this job.

  • Hayley + Craig | All Saints Church, Stand + Hallé St Peter’s, Ancoats

There are weddings you photograph and weddings you feel. Hayley and Craig's day at All Saints Church, Stand and the stunning Hallé St Peter's in Ancoats was unquestionably the latter. From the moment Hayley's dad saw her in her dress, to an entire congregation joining hands in an unbroken circle, to a spontaneous detour to the stables, this was a day that knew exactly what it wanted to be. A family, official at last, surrounded by the people who matter most.

  • Lilah + Henry | Hathersage

Lilah and Henry’s Hathersage wedding was a gorgeous blend of family moments, vineyard magic and a dancefloor powered by vinyl and a DJ best man. From a morning of ironing miracles and christening-champagne bubbles to a ceremony watched live by loved ones at home, their day was full of warmth and personality. We wandered the vines at Carr Head Vineyard, feasted at Openhouse and ended the night with a packed dancefloor that never once let up. A beautifully personal, joy-filled celebration from start to finish.

“We honestly don’t know how he does it, but the result is pure perfection. Our final wedding album exceeded our expectations, and we couldn’t be happier. If you choose Tom as your wedding photographer, you will not be disappointed!”

  • Riding for Dad – 24 Hours, 520km and One Huge Reason Why

In 2020, I rode for 24 hours straight — over 520km — in memory of my dad on what would have been his 74th birthday. It was my way of saying thank you to Ashgate Hospice, whose compassion and care meant everything to our family. What started as a fundraising challenge has since grown into an ongoing connection, as I now volunteer as a photographer helping to share the incredible work Ashgate continues to do for our community.
